Sweet tasting leaves that activate the alkaloids in leaves and much better tasting IMHO than rock or powdered lejia. The only thing I'd like to see improved is more whole leaves as opposed to partially pulverized like what I got with my last order. Whole leaves are more palatable in the mouth, not as grainy, and seem to last longer.

This basifying agent works great when combined with coca leaves to add a sweet flavor reminiscent of hot cocoa.
However, I do not recommend them for chewing coca leaves. Although they are easy on the mouth and provide a pleasant, sweet taste, they do not seem to bring out the magical alkaloids of coca as well as sodium bicarbonate or limestone paste. For some reason, they just don't feel like they produce an alkaline pH in the mouth. Even though the sodium bicarbonate IS rough on the gums, you will not experience the full benefits of coca chewing by using this form of lejia.
Save these for coca tea - they are an EXCELLENT flavoring agent!
